No soak in water available at this massage parlour

If your body aches and you need to loosen your muscles,

If you need some relaxation and want to do some good too,

If you crave a good foot reflexology or full body massage,

Then you can head on over to St Nicholas’ Home’s Wellness Centre for a rejuvenating massage. Since this is a bona fide, real massage centre with the visually impaired as the masseurs, don’t go there expecting any extra ‘bi’ (course) or to ‘chim chui’ (soak in water) which I mentioned about in my previous post.

This Wellness Centre is to train the visually impaired in massage therapy and reflexology so that they could gain experience while at the same time generate some income. Of course, not all the masseurs are trainees as there are already trained and certified professionals there. The services offered there are:

  • Full Body Massage
  • Head, Neck, Shoulders & Hands
  • Therapeutic Back Massage
  • Shiatsu
  • Foot Reflexology
  • Foot Reflexology with neck and shoulders massage therapy
  • Foor soaking followed by foot reflexology

The price range is RM28 for the foot reflexology and RM38 and above for the others, depending on the hours of treatment. The money they earned from this centre will go towards training more visually impaired individuals in massage therapy and keeping the centre running.

The centre could be accessed via the St Nicholas Home along Jalan Bagan Jermal or you could go in through its front entrance at Mano Close, a small lane off Persiaran Midlands.

Here are the details of the centre:
